The role of an assistant is as unique as each person who uses assistance, and the work is always planned together according to the client’s needs.

The assistants belong to the client, not the company, and the company cannot replace or reassign them elsewhere without the client’s consent. The client decides who assists them, when they work, what they help with, and how the assistance is provided.

Do you want to hire a familiar person as your assistant?

Many of our clients have, over the years, developed a good relationship with their familiar assistants. We are happy to make your everyday life even easier and hire your familiar assistant on our payroll. From then on, we take care of work scheduling (together with you, of course) and handle all employer obligations.

I am my own assistant’s employer (employer model), how can you help?

If acting as an employer occasionally feels burdensome or otherwise difficult, we are happy to offer help in many ways:
We can take your familiar assistant on our payroll, keeping the same worker, reducing your responsibility, and we take care of all the paperwork from then on.

We help you find an assistant who suits you. If you wish, you can meet several assistant candidates and make your decision afterward – we know that chemistry with the assistant is essential. We take care of all contract matters and employer obligations.

We help manage substitutes in sudden and non-sudden situations, such as your assistant falling ill or vacation times. We can provide a temporary assistant on short notice.

What if my assistant falls ill?

We are able to arrange an assistant for you very quickly, for example in situations where your current assistant is unable to come. Even in these situations, the substitute is not “just anyone,” but is generally someone already familiar to you, so it is not always necessary to start the onboarding from scratch. At Avustajaklinikka, we have invested in using technology to make our operations more efficient, with our own application assisting in this.

What is a service voucher?

A service voucher is a payment commitment issued by the welfare area, which allows you to purchase services from a private service provider.

One of the most important features of a service voucher is increasing freedom of choice. With a service voucher, the client can acquire services from the provider of their choice.

If you have not yet received a service voucher but would like to know if you are eligible, we are happy to help clarify this. We assist with applying for and using the voucher and are happy to answer all questions regarding service vouchers.

Who pays for the assistant service?

Assistant services are primarily provided using a service voucher, so the client does not pay for them themselves. We take care of the service voucher matters directly with the welfare area, so you do not need to worry about these.

You can also purchase assistant services yourself.

How quickly will I receive a response to my inquiry?

We aim to respond to all inquiries as quickly as possible, usually already within the hour on weekdays.

Under normal circumstances, we are best reached during office hours on weekdays 8–16, but we try to answer phone calls also in the evenings and on weekends. If we cannot answer your call immediately, we will call you back as soon as we are available.

At what times of day is the service provided?

All our services are flexibly available according to the client’s needs, including evenings and weekends. We are therefore available 24/7.

We consider it important that the service provider is always reachable, and we are confident we can find a solution that meets your specific needs.

What is a personal assistant?

A personal assistant is present when one’s own life requires support in everyday matters. They assist in daily activities, at work, in studies, in interaction, in leisure activities, and in societal participation according to the personal assistance user’s wishes and needs.

The welfare area reimburses the hiring of a personal assistant if the conditions defined in the Disability Services Act for receiving the service are met.

Avustajaklinikka’s personal assistants include both trained professionals and untrained individuals. What unites them all is a willingness to help and the ability to take initiative energetically.

What do home services mean?

Our home services include home help services, personal assistance, support for family caregivers, and support services for families with children. Our services are always planned according to the client’s needs.

Our services can be purchased with a service voucher and are also eligible for household deduction.

Who are our services intended for?

Our services are intended for people with mobility limitations (physical disability, developmental disability, etc.), families with children, as support for family caregivers, elderly people, or other persons temporarily needing assistance.

How can I order services at home?

You can order services by contacting us by phone, email, or leaving a contact request through our website’s contact form. We go through your assistance needs together and tailor the services to meet your requirements.

Who pays for home services?

Primarily, our services are paid with a service voucher, in which case the service is essentially free for the client. Services can also be paid for personally, or partially or fully through municipal support programs. We can help you figure out different support options. Our services are also eligible for household tax deduction, which for care and caregiving work is 35% of the service price.

How quickly can services be delivered to my home after ordering?

Services can often be started on the same day as the order is received, depending on the scope of the required services and urgency.

How is the quality and safety of services ensured?

The quality and safety of services are ensured through skilled personnel, regular evaluations, and tailoring to client needs. At Avustajaklinikka, we focus on the high quality of our services and always aim to provide the best possible service.

We have our own self-monitoring plan, medication plan, and data security plan, and all of these documents are regularly updated as regulations change or as needed. We also employ disabled persons to ensure that our services are genuinely client-centered and designed to meet our clients’ needs.
